Memorial day has always meant something to me, but now it has more of a personal meaning to me. Miles is a member of the USMC and I am so proud of what he does. He is in California right now preparing himself to go to Afghanistan this coming August. We are so thankful for what our military does for us.

I know that I haven't written in a while so I wanted to get everyone up to date with the ongoings of our life. Last weekend we wanted to make sure that we spent every moment with Miles because he was leaving Monday night for California. Friday went went out to dinner at our favorite restaurant Red Robin to celebrate Miles running one of his best PFT's. Afterward we walked around the mall just to tire Kaydence and ourselves out a little bit. Saturday we headed up to Cherry Point for an airshow. It was actually really fun. It was very hot, but fun.

Kaydence cooled off under her daddy's shadow.

My handsome husband!

Then we ended our outing with lunch at buffalo wild wings; which was amazing.
Sunday we had a fun filled day at MAYNIA! it was like a fair type thing that they had on base that was completely free. The USO also put on a live Sesame Street show for the kids. Kaydence is still pretty young for this, but we tried it out anyways; maybe next year!

Single Parent for 5 weeks
Yep that's right I'm on my own for the next five weeks. Miles is off to 29 Palms in California to train for his upcoming deployment to Afghanistan. We took him tonight and it was actually kind of rough on me. I didn't think that I would cry; it's not like he's going to a war zone yet, but its not where he's going its just the fact that he's going to be gone for so long. And yes, five weeks is a long time. I think it's just to prepare us for the 7 months that he'll be gone. I'm going to make sure that I post everyday from here on out so that Miles is able to see what we've been up to while he was gone.
Goodnight!

New Adventures in Little Land!
Do you see these pretty little teeth? Yes! that's right Kaydence has two teeth coming in. She did just fine with the first one, but when the second one started coming in she seemed to get more and more cranky. I just give her a small dose of Tylenol when she seems like shes hurting and, poof!, she seems much better.

Okay, so I made Kaydence some warm apricot oatmeal yesterday morning, and when she was finished I decided to let her try to feed herself and have a little bit of fun. And boy did she have fun as you can clearly see!

Kaydence loves to sit on her tricycle and have me push her around the house.

We also embarked on a new adventure yesterday; Peas! And No, they were not a hit. It may look like she is enjoying them, but she is fooling you big time. She enjoyed playing with them, but the taste of them made her gag!

Then she decided to eat the bowl; which I'm sure felt good on her teeth.

I thought this was adorable! This is Kaydence's surprised face! She is so funny; she makes the funniest faces...I don't know who she gets that from...HA!

We are on a new food kick lately. Today Kaydence had macaroni and cheese, and not the Gerber kind she had the real stuff, just mushed up a little bit. She loved it!!! I was so nervous to give it to her because of the noodles; I'm always so nervous that she is going to choke on something.
I tell you I love this little girl so much. I know everyone tells you that you will never know a love so great until you have a child, and they were so right! I don't know if I could ever love anyone as much as I love Kaydence! The Lord has truly blessed me with the most amazing, beautiful, and intelligent daughter!

Okay so I have made a few commitments to myself and family and I think that if I make myself blog about them and their progress then it will compel me to completely follow through. First I have committed to working out every day. There is a gym on base that has a daycare right in it and its only $10 for every 15 hours Kaydence is in there. I need this considering I haven't lost all of the baby weight and yes Kaydence is almost 7 months old. I'm giving myself 3 months to lose at least 20 pounds even though I really think I can do it in 2, but that is my goal. Now the commitment that I have made to my family is getting us all closer to God as individuals and as a family. I just feel that we could be doing better and we want to do better; so I'm getting it in motion. I have decided that were going to try a different church this Sunday, so hopefully there more personable and we get more fellowship than were getting now. Miles and I are going to start doing a couples devotional at night and one other thing that has seemed to become hard for us is each of us having our own private time with God. Please just pray!
Happy Wednesday!

Miles checked out of his company last week so he had two extra days off and Kaydence and I really enjoyed having him home. We had some great family time.

We went to Ihop for breakfast one morning and Kaydence enjoyed one of her new loves; a pickle!

Kaydence is a really tough little girl. She loves to be flipped upside down, side to side, and all around. Its so much fun for her and Miles. Miles thinks that Kaydence is going to be a rough and tough tom boy; he may be right, HA!
So we live like right on the coast and were only a few minutes away from the beach. So this weekend we decided to take Kaydence to the beach for the first time. It was definitely a hit. She loves to be outside and she loves the water, so this was perfect!

Please just keep us in your prayers. Miles is deploying soon and we just pray that it goes by quickly and he returns safely.
