you don't know what you have until its gone...

Do I like Tebow? If you asked me that question about a week ago I would have probably said not so much. Ha! Sorry Tebow! But something happened this past week that showed me just how much I truly love this dog. This past week Tebow escaped from the house. (He has been trying to get out of the house every chance he gets since Miles left for California). We immediately went out to look for him, but no sign of Tebow. Now Tebow has gotten out before, but he always comes home within the hour. The next day, still no Tebow. We walked the neighborhood, drove around, called animal control, and constantly checked the pounds website for any updates for the next three days. At this point I was really missing Tebow. I didn't realize how much I really loved this dog until he was no where to be found. I was actually crying while I was on the phone with Miles at one point. Without Tebow my family is just not complete (I didn't think that I would every say that).

We put up "MISSING" flayers Friday afternoon, and Friday night at about 9:40 I got a very disturbing phone call. Tebow had been found, but he had had a pretty tough few days. Tebow was struck twice on the top of his head with something like a piece of re-bar. I would assume that whoever struck him was just nervous seeing a pit bull and I completely understand that. Apparently whoever struck Tebow also called the Sheriff's department as well as animal control, but one sweet woman hurried and called a friend who is apart of a pit bull rescue based out of New Port, NC, and has her come get Tebow. If she had not come when she did Tebow would have been euthanized that night. This woman is amazing and just has the biggest heart. She took Tebow to the vet where he had to have x-rays, antibiotics, flee dip, nails cut, and ears cleaned. She then took him into her home and treated him like a part of her family. By the grace of God I was able to get in touch with her and become reunited with my dog. We are so grateful and thankful to have Tebow home. We offered to reimburse the wonderful woman for all of Tebow's vet expenses, but she told me no. So we intend to make a donation to the pit bull rescue that saved our dogs life.

(this actually doesn't look too bad, but this is after he was all cleaned up)
